Annie Barry was a valiant woman who loved her religious life and lived it to the full. She was deeply prayerful, totally dedicated to education, very hardworking and so proud to be Irish!

As you know...Annie was a very determined person who could be a bit stubborn at times, but she was fun and fun loving.  She loved to laugh. She loved parties and had a real sweet tooth.  And she loved her Toyota!

Years ago when Annie and I talked over our vocations, she told me this amazing story: She was galloping her horse on her father's ranch when her horse shied and threw her over his head. She saw herself flying toward a clump of bushes and in the bushes she saw the face of St. Julie! Anne knew she would be saved and that some day she would become a Sister of Notre Dame.

Annie and I became friends when I was missioned to Oregon about 50 years ago and have remained friends ever since...even though we occasionally drifted apart, we were always, always there for each other.

During these years we had had only one big ongoing disagreement and that was about the church. She didn't like the changes in the church and I did!  Many times at the close of these disagreements she would say, "Oh June, you are still sooooo PROTESTANT!"

Annie dreaded going to Mercy Care Center but she grew to love it because of the loving care she received there.

Well, Annie you were always a lady...gracious and loving and we will always remember you! And I will always love you!!!
