I grew up in the bad part of Menlo Park, California, and as a young boy, my only friends were at Mt. Carmel school...in fact my fondest memories are when I was in the 4th to 8th grade there.  So I would not have missed this reunion for the world...even if I would have had to travel from Iraq or Afghanistan to do it!

What an enjoyable evening: Saturday night mass, a tour of the old school and convent, and finally hours of socializing.  I personally wish the night would not have ended.  Seeing everyone again brought back many good memories of when we were all young and trying to learn about ourselves, life and how we fit into the world.

Despite my humble surroundings growing up, I attribute most of the success that I have gained in life from the solid educational foundation that I received and the friendships that I formed when I attended Our Lady of Mt. Carmel School in Redwood City.  My thanks to all of you for giving me this head start in life. I hope one day that my son has a teacher that is as strong an influence on him as Sr. Barbara Kavanaugh was to me in seventh grade!
