Associate Anne Hannigan
 
Anne received the 2010 Partners In Mission Award from the North American Conference of Associates and Religious (NACAR). She shares her thoughts on the experience.

It was with a profound sense of humility and gratitude that I stood among the giants of the Associate Movement at the International NACAR Conference in St. Louis on June 5th.  Five of us were nominated for the 2010 Partners in Mission Award, and each sounded like a winner to me! 

NACAR had invited each nominee to host a table for 10, so we were surrounded with the loving presence of our communities.  I had invited the SNDs and SND Associates to join me and, with three seats left, invited some Coesfeld "cousins" to join in the celebration.  As the award dinner began, the Associate Co-coordinators presented me with a beautiful bouquet of flowers and abundant good wishes.

I was surprised and delighted to hear my name announced as the award winner.  I haven't had that many pictures taken or congratulations offered since my wedding!  All evening and into the following morning, people were stopping me to express their good wishes, and the entire experience was simply delightful.  What pleased me most, of course, was the thought that so many SNDs and Associates had worked to put my name into nomination.

I think there was a general feeling among us in St. Louis that this award is really a tribute to all who have worked within Notre Dame to move Association forward. 

Sisters and Associates celebrate and congratulate Anne and thank her for her many contributions to the mission of Notre Dame and Association! We are very proud of you, Anne, and have known for years that you are a special gift to Notre Dame!
