Sisters of the California Province teach and tutor in schools and community education centers, and support and counsel people of all ages in pastoral ministries and social services. You will find them in ministries from Seattle to Los Angeles, San Francisco to New York City, to Nairobi, Kenya. The administrative offices of the California Province are in Belmont, California, where they sponsor Notre Dame de Namur University, Notre Dame High School, Elementary School and Early Learning Center. They also sponsor Notre Dame High School, San Jose, and Moreland Notre Dame Academy, Watsonville and co-sponsor Cristo Rey High School in Sacramento. The California Province, in ministry on the West Coast since 1844, is part of the international congregation of Notre Dame de Namur, founded in France in 1804 by St. Julie Billiart.
