Paula Krajl was my first and best friend at Moreland Notre Dame Academy in Watsonville. Our teachers were among the unheralded Notre Dame "saints": Sisters Anthony Marie, Fancis Loretto, Miriam Therese, Cyril Aloyse, Marie Therese, and Marie Veronica.

As music students Paula and I both went to the College of Notre Dame. After graduation in 1958, we lost touch, but reconnected when Paula was battling cancer and undergoing difficult chemotherapy. She never lost courage or hope.

Living on a fixed income, I wasn't able to make a large donation at her death, but I decided to pledge a small monthly gift to the Sisters of Notre Dame. In that way, I can keep Paula woven into the lives of the Sisters who have meant so much to us.
