Women are Still Entering Religious Life  Email Article To a Friend View Printable Version

Sister Nancy Uhl speaks out about the Religious Retirement Fund:

One reason I volunteered [to speak in churches] is I have had the unpleasant experience from the pews listening to an appeal that described the dire situation of religious life and the "dying" of religious orders. It may come as a surprise to you, but entering Notre Dame is not my "dying" plan...it is my "living" plan. I believe we are vibrant, alive and have a wonderful future ahead of us. We have much to offer the Catholic Church, and would like our pew brothers and sisters to join us in that really cool future by giving a little help to those of us who won't have children to care for us as we grow older, because we made a bold choice to enter a life devoted to God and Church. I believe our fellow Catholics can't be reminded enough times that men and women are STILL entering religious life and that is a good thing for us all.
