Deaths in the Notre Dame Family

Sister Dolores Pardini
1938 - 2012

Born June 11, 1938, Sr. Dolores died on January 28 at St. Columbkille Convent in Los Angeles, lovingly cared for by family members and her Notre Dame community. During her last few weeks she received many visitors. Steady streams of young and old came to thank her for "saving their lives." Sr. Dolores is the one who had helped them find food, shelter, medical care and assisted them in the arduous citizenship process. Msgr. Timothy Dyer says of Sister, "She brought Christ to the neighborhood."

Donor & Alumna
Mary Birmingham Emery
2011

Alumna Mary Emery (NDSJ '51) joined our Sisters of Notre Dame Development Board in 1987 and contributed her time, energy, strong personality, sense of humor and support. But Mary's primary commitment was always the Santa Clara Law School. She served as Director of the Law Library right after graduating from law school there, and became Associate Dean in 1986. Mary's death in August 2011 was a shock to everyone--much too young and too vibrant.
