Why did Jimmy Stewart donate his movie memorabilia to BYU?

Because they asked!!!

Though a devout Presbyterian, Stewart respected the values and morals of the Mormon faith. In fact during the filming of “Mr Krueger’s Christmas”, Stewart had the opportunity to conduct the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. A deeply moving experience for both him and the choir.

Because of the school’s simple request to Jimmy Stewart, Brigham Young University now boasts a wonderful collection of his movie memorabilia.

As you might guess, we don’t need movie memorabilia, but we do have pressing financial needs. Despite the majority of our Sisters being of retirement age, many still serve in unpaid or underfunded ministries. These Sisters include Avelina Garcia (prison ministry), Yvonne Bondi (spiritual direction), Michelle Henault (House of Prayer staff), Mary Pat McCarron (ESL teacher), Julie Marie Thorpe (hospice ministry), Michela Sheehan (hospital special-needs nursery), Jeanette Braun (hot meals coordinator) and Claudia McTaggart (human trafficking activist).

So we are asking…would you consider adding the Sisters of Notre Dame in your will or trust?
